I had a wonderful stay at Macaron Guest House, nestled in beautiful gardens and just a stone's throw away from the vibrant Main Street of Franschhoek. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, truly a highlight of my mornings. While my room was a bit dark and located near the entry gate, it was still comfortable, and I wouldn't hesitate to return, especially to try out one of the better rooms. Overall, it was excellent value for money.

I booked this guesthouse expecting a luxurious end to my holiday, but it was a mixed experience. While the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the service was mostly friendly, there were several issues, particularly with cleanliness and the dining experience that left me disappointed. Overall, though it has potential, I found it overpriced for what it offered.

Rooms

Our room was spacious and modern, with lovely details, but faced the road which made it noisy at times. There were a few maintenance issues like a bathroom door that wouldn't close properly, which was frustrating.

The location was convenient, just a short stroll to the town center with all its shops and cafes. The gardens provided a peaceful retreat despite being close to the main street.
Dining

My stay at Macaron Guest House was truly delightful! The location is incredibly peaceful yet just a stone's throw away from the lively center of Franschhoek, making it easy to explore local cafes and shops. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit memorable, handling all our requests with genuine care and warmth. The rooms were stylish and equipped with everything we needed, although a bit more cozy furniture would have made it even better. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a good variety of options. However, the room layout wasn’t as expected, being situated on the side of the main house. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it!

The gardens were stunning and provided a serene atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly helpful in arranging our dining and wine tours. However, while our room was beautiful, it was quite small and the bathroom felt cramped. Nonetheless, the overall experience was memorable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts offered.
